Introduction to Maya

- We start with creating a cylinder and using the extrude tool to give it an interior and thickness, then we bevel the edges to improve the cups appearance in smooth mode

- To add a handle, we create a torus and align it with the side of the cup. Then after combining the objects, we can connect them using the Target Weld tool.

- We then created wine glasses and a kettle using the line tool

For my Assignment I decided to recreate a London Underground train from the late 1800s, along with Notting Hill Gate station.
The first step was to collect good reference images to create the train, and then the station, shown below.
I began modelling the train by laying out the simple shapes, and then going into further detail afterwards.

I then created textures for the train in substance painter, which gave it a very realistic look.
For the station I again blocked out the main shapes first, and then went into more detail. The hardest part was the arches, but I only had to do one and then could duplicate them to repeat.
