NUKE in 3D
Starting with simply beginning to understand how to broach the 3d realm in the world of NUKE we put into practice bringing MAYA assets into NUKE. We exported a selection of objects into an alembic file format and used the read geometry node connected to a scene in our tree to bring it into NUKE.
3D Tracking in NUKE
When combining CG and live action footage you will need to account for lens distortion upon your CG image. Therefore in NUKE you will remove the distortion over the plate photography before replacing it over the comp of both elements. For issues such as lens distortion and camera shake, to give freedom to the comp artist it becomes necessary to render out an over scan of your image. An over scan is an image with visual data beyond the bounds of the borders to that image.
Once the distortion has been accounted for then the footage is ready for a track.
