CGI is for losers…Why do they say that?
- Why do some filmmakers say no to CGI?
- Think what impressions this might give to the audience?
- Do such claims help or hurt visual effects as an art form?
Many directors reject the or limits CGI because they believe practical effects, sets, costumes and hands-done animation feels more authentic. To much CGI can look artificial, age quickly, or distract from a story. Traditional techniques forces creativity and give the film unique texture that computers can’t always represent. Movies with a lot of CGI feels less serious and less emotional. The claims i believe hurts the visual effects industry, by claims like that filmmakers might will reinforcing budget cuts, and it puts on a risk misrepresenting the incredible artistry of visual affects.
