Blackburn Rovers vs Brentford FC
Blackburn Rovers host Brentford at Ewood Park on Friday. Blackburn Rovers come into this match with only one win in their last five matches. Their last match was a 1-1 draw against Steve Cooper’s Swansea side, who are also fighting for automatic promotion. An accumulated point total of 5 out of a potential 15 for Blackburn Rovers would suggest that their form has dipped, however, this could change on Friday when they meet Brentford. The likes of Scott Wharton and Jacob Davenport remain injured for Blackburn Rovers. The Players that are still in doubt to play are: Lewis Holtby, Adam Armstrong, Jarrad Branthwaite and Daniel Ayala.
Whilst Brentford FC fights for automatic promotion, their form has also dipped. Within their last 5 matches, they have only recorded 2 wins out of 5. If Brentford wants to secure automatic promotion into the Premier League, they will need Ivan Toney to continue to score as he remains the Championship’s top goalscorer with 25 goals. A win for Brentford would move them up to second in the Championship, level on point with their rivals Watford FC. Brentford are without Rico Henry and Shandon Baptiste. Whether Pontus Jansson will play remains in doubt.
I predict that Brentford should come out as winners in this match if everyone’s at their best.
