London has been the worst-hit region within unemployment which is currently high at 5.8 per cent. The pandemic and Brexit have played a huge role in unemployment, with many losing their jobs or being furloughed.
The number of job vacancies within the UK reached 1.1 million due to the effects of the lockdown. Still, now Brexit has been an enormous problem for our economy because freedom of movement has now ended, and many EU workers have left the country.
The vacancies that saw a fast rise was seen within transport and storage, which rose by 56.1 per cent.
Action West London has been one of the organisations which have helped those unemployed by working closely in partnership with other employers to increase employability.
