The Ealing Charity Christmas Card Shop (ECCCS) has opened its doors again this year for its 37th Christmas. The all-volunteer shop is located at the Church of Christ the Saviour and sells cards from 27 charities.
The ECCCS is one of the few charity card shops where 100% of the money raised goes to good causes.
Sue Green, who co-founded the shop as a stay-at-home-mum in 1985 said, “last year we couldn’t open the shop at all so we had to sell all the cards online, which was very difficult and very time-consuming”.
“Everybody is delighted that we’re back. We’ve had a really good first week and we’ve raised a lot of money so far, says Mrs Green.
With total sales since 1985 topping £800,000, the Ealing Charity Christmas Card Shop has supported more than 100 charities, including Age UK Ealing, Alzheimer’s Society and British Heart Foundation and sold 5m cards to over 21,000 customers.
The Ealing Charity Christmas Card is open from 10 am until 4 pm until 18 December, Mondays to Saturdays at the Church of Christ the Saviour in Ealing Broadway.
