Ealing cinema inauguration delayed until spring 2022
By Mireia Crespo, Local Community Reporter
Ealing Council has announced that the long awaited leisure facility Filmworks Cinema in the West London borough has been delayed again until spring 2022 the soonest. The opening of the cinema was due in October, but its inauguration has been delayed several times. ‘The construction of Filmworks has continued throughout the Covid-19 pandemic despite the challenges of social distancing for the workforce, but this has caused delays in the construction programme’, an Ealing Council spokesperson affirmed. The borough’s only previously surviving cinema was closed in 2008.
