Character Animation

WEEK 1 – Introduction to animation

TASK : Make the ball hit an object, animate the reaction. Render the animation.

WEEK 2 – The obstacle course

TASK: Animate a ball bouncing around an obstacle course, it will emulate different weights, exploring how multiple balls interact at different weights.

WEEK 3 – Posing an IK arm and Leg rig, Disney ‘sack of flour’ animator training exercise

TASK: Use hierarchies to pose an arm and a set of legs using an IK setup. Apply Disney’s techniques to create a rectangular ‘sack of flour’

In this video, I am parenting the different objects by clicking shift + P in a hierarchal manner  in order to mimic the joint movement of fingers, hands and arms.

WEEK 4 – Creating poses, working with Human Rigs

TASK: Create a series of poses that show the emotions, joy, fear and exhuastion. These emotions should be clear, have a strong line of action and can be decoded even in silhouette

WEEK 8Animation Reference & Rotoscoping | Ball Kick / Box Lift | Industry Roles (Character Art & Animation)

I positioned the character to be in a lifting  position.

Then, when I was done I put locators from the CREATE bar and added it to each edge of the box.

Once I had added the locators to the correct areas, I began parenting them to the hands, and of the locators to the box so that when the hands are lifted they are also lifting the box.
