Week 4 – Keying

In this lesson we learnt how to use chroma key to replace the green screen background using Adobe After Effects. We also learnt how to add shapes and make them move around the screen.

Week 5 – Tracking

This lesson, we learnt how to track using anchor points ( pyramid label ) , face – tracking and blurring face  ( football video) and text tracking (final video).

My first steps to attaining my final video was layering the the pyramid label on top of the original clip and opening up the tracking window. Before I use the tracking, I had to move the anchor point to be in the middle of the circle in the label. This is so that i can achieve better precision when tracking it onto the pyramid. Then I went to the tracking window and moved it to the centre point of the pyramid then clicked apply. This automatically creates key points following the movement of the pyramid throughout the video.

In this video, I used face tracking to achieve a blurred face. I did this by hiding one layer and working on one. With this layer I used the masking pen to mask the boys face out. I then went onto the tracking window and clicked on the face tracking (only outline) setting. This automatically tracks the face that I outlined so then I unhide the original layer so it all combines to create the final composite.
