My Own Pictures
The first picture is the one from 2018 that I mentioned in class, and the second is one I’ve taken relatively recently that I really enjoy looking at.

Assignment 1 – Tell a Narrative Through Sequencing
The Thought Behind This Sequence
The idea that I went into this with is linked to the fact that I am personally from a smaller town, where going out at night isn’t particularly possible due to the lesser urbanisation that has taken place.
With this idea, I tried to convey the “eternal day” that big cities create through all of the lights and advertisements that are constantly being pushed into your face.
The first three images are pictures of nature that have been contrasted with a massive piece of man made construction, with my examples being a sewer, a railway and a new building.
Images four and five show massively a urbanised area that is full of lights and advertisements.
Images six and seven are that same area at night, these pictures were taken with daytime camera settings to show to the audience the massive amount of light that these areas give off.
The final image was taken at one in the morning. This shows how much light pollution is happening at all hours in these big cities, never really giving us time to slow down.

Setting up exposure
In this picture the camera was overexposed, this lead to me lowering the exposure and trying again.
Here the exposure was much nicer, but I didn’t like the lighting. I felt like the white light was much too harsh for this colour scheme. I also wanted to include some yellow light to compliment the green shirt I was wearing at the time.
Setting up lighting
After switching to a much warmer key light, I was happy with how the lighting and exposure was set up.
