Year 2 The composite
Week 1: Nodes
using tabs to bring up selection for nodes
Keybinds
T : Transform
F: full screen
D: disable node
C: color correct
shift x : flip connection
fish composite
kid composite
using the merge node B for the background and A for the main focus.
WEEK 2- ROTOSCOPE
ellipse mask
cusped bezier
bezier mask
bspine mask
open spine
rectangle mask
roto scoping a building
using the cusped Bezier
week3: advanced roto
first we start by selecting the tool for our roto
which is B-Spline
selecting A to get the alpha
then going to each mask and adding the motion blur option
for it to look like this as the motion happens
week 4 : Basic Keying
after keying the sky out using keyer node we then masked out everything except the sky
adding light wrap to now give the BG tree’s a more sitting feeling as if it is meant to be there and also adds a defocus look
making the garbage mask to cut things out
next task
creating the node map
1. adding a keylight node then going to the settings top right and select the color pen and hold down ctrl/shift and drag to select the green screen color
2. make another keylight and do the same thing but now youll add filter erode to get increase the level of the white point
after coming out of alpha you will experience a green spill
we will then copy a code called despill madness then paste it into the node section
and put it in between the copy and premult
WEEK 5: Color Grading
adding a grade underneath the despill to make it only effect the woman we never change the background only the foreground
next we then change the value whilst switching from red green and blue so that the woman matches the background for all rgb’s
we will then add another grade for the colour because she felt more woman than the background so we then hold crtl and select the color wheel on multiply to then change the temperature to cool
next we are adding a saturation to it because it seems like shes more warm than the background still so we are using this effect to remove some color#
next adding a reflection of light of her by adding a mask to grade and make sure to change the multiply
with grade making sure the floor is composited
thats how it looked with no grade
next exercise was to composite a statue

WEEK 6-
week 7-
here are the nodes for removing a walking old man
then we applied a tracking to a dot on a stair for stabilization
after adding freeze fame going to the frame where the old man is in the camera and roto him out
using multiply now to remove the roto alpha so that the woman does get cut out whne walking through the roto, you do this by animating the value from 1 to 0
week 8
for this video we will be removing the crowd in the bottom left corner
first we will make a roto node and roto around a clear area with just the ground.
secondly we will then highlight all the points and right click to use the plane tracker forward
now after adding corner pin for the tracking when then went to from and clicked copy to, to then copy the value’s and clicking the lines next to the value to then turn off the animation for each.
next we add a frame hold to freeze frame a certain area using another roto to then mask out the crowd.
now we add a roto paint to use the clone tool to clone the tiles on the ground and paint over the people.
next we add a grade and roto to aid the paint we did to make it darker or lighter so that it fits the scene.
WEEK 9 :
roto paint tracking recap
first i started by making a roto over the logo then highlighting the corners to then now make a plane fwrd tracker and going to the top hop bar and applying the corner pin removing all animations on the from
next we then added a roto to roto around the logo and adding a freeze frame node.
secondly we then made a roto paint ot then color out the logo the same color as the box
then adding the premult to then remove the roto i made around the logo with a the previous corner pin created under the premult
next adding the merge to the corner pin so that we can then apply the new logo to the scene.
after now merge the new logo to the scene we made a node called reformat to the change the format of the new logo added to its original resolution with a corner pin node so that we can now skew it to the box so it has some type of perspective.
further more after completing that task we then made a transform so we can now direct it to the box and scale it down to a realistic size.
using all the transform nodes the the logo to be applied to the box we now started using a color correction so it now fits the scene.
first we added a grade/luma to make sure it fits the color of the background what was kind of blue and purple tinted so, changing the color to that it seemed too vibrant so next we added a saturation to make it lose majority of its color.
WEEK 10: advance keying
In order to grab that area exclusively, I first added a keylight to remove the green screen and then another keylight to remove the other shades of green on the green screen and close to the hair, I then used a keymix to remove those areas and a mask roto around them so that it just affected that section.
now doing the same technique i did with the hair im doing with the forearm and using the alpha mode to detect the hair and strings using the black and white clip.
next i added a garbage matte using the roto node with premult to remove that area you see masked out.
adding a constant to see what is left out and after adding it i got to see green reflecting of her so i added a node called despill to remove that and put her back to neutral
