The Academic Development and Mentoring programme (ADAM) is a University-wide initiative to mentor and develop staff in developing their teaching practice. The programme is intended to offer a safe and collegial space for members of staff to develop their practice. It is entirely developmental.

The mentoring cycle will last for one academic year. All staff are expected to take part in the mentoring programme every three years.

The mentors, usually nominated by the head of school, will be experienced practitioners who will undergo the University’s mentorship training programme.

The mentorship training course will run over four days and will cover mentoring and coaching practices, with a focus on helping academics to realise how they can enhance their own teaching, feedback and assessment practices.
