As an instructor or leader, you do have permission to remove other instructors or leaders from courses/modules or communities, respectively. However, if and when you try to do so, you may receive an error saying that you “do not have rights or permissions” to do so. This is because the users you are trying to leave have the same level of access as you do. As a result, you must first downgrade their access level and then proceed to remove them from the module. The following recording shows how to do this.
