Opening Hours
Be aware that timetabled bookings can be scheduled from Monday to Friday. Please see individual timetables posted outside room for further information.
Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
Open access days – Wednesday afternoons
Only students with full inductions on machinery are permitted to use them if no member of staff is present. A disclaimer will need to be signed by the students to cover these occasions.
A minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 6 are the permitted amount of students working in either of the rooms above. After hours, security staff will frequently monitor student numbers in the room and will turn off the power at 9 pm. Students need to inform technician staff of their intention to use the facilities at least 1 week prior to using, as we have a booking system in place. Please do not turn up without first informing the Fashion Technician – Danielle Dooey or Lead Technician – Marilyn Forkan.
If you do arrive without informing us, you will be asked to make a booking to return on another day if the number of students in that room will then exceed 6. We thank you for your co-operation.
Please note: Monday-Friday, the power is turned off at 5pm – Certain access to machinery after this time will be for those who have had full inductions and preparing work for hand-in deadlines only. Dates and times for these periods will be arranged and distributed to relevant groups. Students arriving after 5pm for these periods to use the facilities, must sign in at reception in order that Security staff are aware of your presence in the building. (There is no Tech support available after 5pm- but will be available to Level 6 students for final hand-in work).
Weekends – This is unsupported and by pre-arrangement only for fully inducted students producing work for deadlines.
Power is off but the room is available until 4:30 (no tech support available).
