Why this toolkit? It provides simple and practical advice to inform and support staff in designing their curricula and teaching approaches.
How should it be used? The toolkit is divided in to 5 different dimensions. For each dimension there is a list of actions. Staff are encouraged to reflect on these actions and to implement at least two (per dimension) in their own context. Examples for each action are provided.
How it was built? The toolkit was informed by a wide range of documents including UWL strategies and policies, (Achieve 2023, the Learning and Teaching and Assessment Strategy, the Assessment policy), the literature in the field and documents produced by Advance HE (formerly the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).
