The University has a KPI in its new strategy that requires all academic staff to have recognition through the UKPSF by 2023. Existing teaching qualifications that do not provide recognition by Advance HE are no longer considered sufficient.

We support colleagues who wish to apply for Associate Fellow, Fellow, Senior Fellow or Principal Fellow of the HEA via Advance UWL, our recognition scheme for teaching and learning support practitioners. Click on the above link to find out more about Advance UWL, and if you are eligible.

We are running two 1-day Advance UWL Bootcamps to support staff who want to start or who are working on their submission for their Advance UWL fellowship application.

In an environment free from distractions, we will instruct you on what you need to do to get a first draft of your Advance UWL application. We will give you time to focus on your writing, with immediate support if you need it.

The Bootcamp will comprise a combination of short instructional sessions and free writing sessions. Participants must be able to commit to the full day, complete the Pre-Bootcamp tasks and have previously attended the “Introduction to Advance UWL” workshop.

Aims of the Bootcamp

• Understanding the UKPSF & identifying the right evidence to make your case.

• How to write reflectively

• Free writing time

• Breakout area for consultation on drafts (on examples or writing style)
