In case you are a local Blackboard account holder, you would log into Blackboard using a different URL and provide different details compared to users with a full UWL email account. The Blackboard accounts have limited access only to Blackboard and it cannot be used to access any other technologies provided by UWL such as Portal, Timetable, Email, CampusPress, LinkedIn Learning, Poll Everywhere, and more.

Who has access to Blackboard local accounts?

  1. Colleagues from Babcock.
  2. Colleagues from Drama School London (DSL).
  3. And colleagues from most partner institutions.

What processes are involved to create such an account?

  1. A link tutor, school administrator, or course leader from UWL would normally request it on your behalf.
  2. An account creation form must be completed. You should liaise with your relevant colleague as above to provide you with the form required.
  3. The link tutor, school administrator, or course leader would provide us with your information – such as 2 email addresses and your full name.
    – The email addresses are required to register your account on Blackboard and to share your login details separately for security purposes.
  4. Once we (CELT) have created your account, we will email your username and Blackboard login link to you and the colleague who shared your details. This email will be your work email address that we have registered on your Blackboard account.
  5. Your password MUST be sent to your alternative address for security purposes.

How do you get access to such an account?
